An 18-year-old man is charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting a female at a home in Akron.
In addition to a preliminary charge of attempted murder, Timothy Woodcox, of Rochester, also faces charges of criminal recklessness and aggravated battery. He is held without bond at the Fulton County Jail.
The shooting incident was reported at 12:50 a.m. Sunday. Emergency personnel were dispatched to 906 S. 900 East, Akron, after a woman advised her daughter had been shot in the neck. She was reportedly unsure if it was intentional or accidental.
Woodcox was detained and questioned by police, and subsequently taken into custody on a preliminary charge of invasion of privacy. His alleged victim was transported by Parkview EMS to receive emergent care. She was reportedly conscious at the time of the initial report.
Fulton County Prosecutor Mike Marrs told WROI Giant.fm that an affidavit of probable cause had not yet been filed, as of Wednesday afternoon. More details will be reported when available.
