Labor Day weekend in Plymouth means one thing: half a million people crammed into Centennial Park pretending they came for “the crafts” when we all know it’s about the donuts. But beyond the blueberries, you’ll notice some familiar characters…
The Donut Die-Hard
Camp chair. Thermos. In line at 5 a.m., swearing they’ll “only get a dozen.” They walk away with four.
The Human Compass
Every family has one. Map in hand, marching the group from the craft booths to the rides like they’re leading a military operation. “No, we’re not stopping for lemonade yet.”
The Local Who Hates Crowds (But Shows Up Anyway)
Spends the whole time muttering about traffic, parking, and “how it used to be better.” Still somehow there every year.
The Balloon Photographer
Standing in the grass at sunrise, phone raised, whispering, “This is art.” Posts 47 photos of hot-air balloons to Facebook by noon.
The Blueberry Fashion Icon
Head-to-toe blueberry print. Earrings shaped like berries. Socks with blueberries. If they could find blueberry shoes, they’d wear them.
The Food Adventurer
Donuts, cheesecake, milkshakes, pizza, chili… if it has “blueberry” in the title, they’re eating it. Nobody sees them again after 3 p.m. because they’re napping under a tree.
The “I Only Came for the Fireworks” Guy
Rolls in at 8:55 p.m. with a lawn chair, skips everything else. Claims the fireworks are “the only part worth seeing.”
The Overloaded Parent
One kid sticky with cotton candy, another crying on the Tilt-a-Whirl, stroller loaded with crafts they didn’t want to buy. Looks like they’ve aged 10 years since Friday.
The Marathon Walker
Step counter buzzing off the charts. Hits all 300 craft booths, every food stand, both parades, and still has energy for the Stomp. We don’t know how they do it.
The Small-Town Celebrity
That person everyone knows—they ran for council once, or sang at church, or own the local shop. Takes 45 minutes to cross the park because they have to say hi to literally everyone.
So… which one are YOU? (Be honest, you might be two or three at once
)
