Shelbyville High School’s girls golf team finished third Tuesday at the season-opening Seymour Invitational played at Shadowood Golf Course.
Bedford North Lawrence captured the team title with a 364. The host Owls (391) were runner-up ahead of the Golden Bears, who posted 421.
Also posting team scores were Madison (430), Columbus East (433), Columbus North (465) and Trinity Lutheran (486).
Golfers representing Jennings County and Scottsburg also competed but did not produce team scores.
Seymour’s Shana Spray was the medalist with a 74. BNL’s Sammie Nusbaum (75) and Emma Voris (86) placed second and third. Madison’s Emma Shockley was fourth with a 95.

Shelbyville’s Hana Stenger (photo) finished fifth (96).
Also competing for Shelbyville were Julie Garrison (100), Sophia Bragg (110) and Harper Adams (115).
Shelbyville is at Mt. Vernon Thursday.
