Prep Report: Triton Central volleyball stays unbeaten against HLC foes

Triton Central improved to 2-0 in the Hoosier Legends Conference standings with a 25-8, 25-12, 25-10 win Tuesday over Beech Grove.

Lucy May led the Tigers (5-3) with nine kills.

Alaina Darlage finished with five service aces. Addy Gibbs had for blocks.

Setter Anna Kemper collected 19 assists.

Beech Grove dropped to 2-3 (1-1 HLC).

Girls golf

Greensburg 179, Shelbyville 202

At Greensburg Country Club, five Pirates posted scores under 50 to defeat the Golden Bears.

Julie Garrison led Shelbyville with a 44 – third best overall score on the leaderboard.

Hana Stenger followed with a 50. Sophia Bragg posted a 51.

Boys soccer

Martinsville 3, Shelbyville 2

At Shelbyville, the Artesians raced out to a 3-0 lead before the Golden Bears scored twice to end the first half. Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the second half.

Talan Badger, Lucas Toloday and Boden Wolff each scored for Martinsville (2-2-1).

Damian Faulconer and Joao Rivera scored for the Golden Bears (2-2).

Martinsville won the junior varsity match, 2-0.

Boys tennis

Waldron 5, Edinburgh 0

At Waldron, the host Mohawks dropped just three games in four contested matches to improve to 4-1 this season.

At No. 1 singles, Charlie Fischer defeated Raiden Stanley, 6-0, 6-1.

Lincoln Fischer blanked Charlie Roberts at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-0.

Noah Leap completed the singles sweep with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Braden Cox.

At No. 1 doubles, Jackson Kuhn and Caige Sheaffer defeated Caden Glick and Elijah Roberts, 6-0, 6-0.

Edinburgh forfeited the No. 2 doubles match to Owen Hartman and Kevin Crouch.

Seymour 4, Shelbyville 1

At Shelbyville, the Golden Bears’ only win came at No. 2 doubles where Grant Tackett and Owen Shively bested Gus Henry and Max Payne, 6-3, 6-3.

The Owls swept the other four matches and lost just nine games total.

Shelbyville dropped to 1-3 this season.
