Highlights: Plymouth traveled to Kesling Park in LaPorte for a double dual tournament Saturday, beating Lowell 5-0 in the first round and then defeating LaPorte 4-1 in taking home the Slicer Tourney Championship!
Against Lowell, Plymouth’s singles players, 1S Bella Kain, 2S Annie Plothow, and 3S Tynley Gantz had little resistance losing just 3 total games. Plymouth’s doubles teams had more competitive matches but still won their matches in straight sets. 1D Taylor Delp-Ellie Jones took down Lowell’s newly formed 1D team, while 2D Morgan Langfeldt-Cassidy Riddle beat Lowell’s previous 1D tandem, battling back from a 5-3 first set deficit.
Against LaPorte, Plymouth’s doubles teams, 1D Taylor Delp-Ellie Jones and 2D Morgan Langfeldt-Cassidy Riddle each won handily, while 1S Bella Kain and 2S Annie Plothow each won competitive first sets en route to a straight set win. Tynley Gantz lost a tight match at 3S to account for the final score.
Plymouth’s Varsity/JV will finish NLC play at Wawasee Monday May 8 for a 5:30PM start. Go Big Red!
