Shelbyville junior running back Donavon Martin has been named the Beth Prince State Farm Athlete of the Week.
Martin had an impressive showing Friday against Greensburg. He carried the ball a career-high 29 times for a career-high 225 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Golden Bears to a 36-14 win over the Pirates at McKeand Stadium.
“I would be lying if I said I didn’t want that many carries,” said Martin. “I will take as many carries as I can to help my team any way I can.”
