The Red Hill football Salukis are at the .500 mark on the young season as they used an opportunistic offense and a solid defense to beat the Carmi-White County Bulldogs 28-0 on Friday, September 11th at Harrington-Jeffries Field in Carmi.
The Dawgs scored in each quarter to roll to the win. Layton Moore caught a 23-yard scoring strike from quarterback Easton Dowty at the 9:22 mark of the first quarter and running back Colby Crutchfield caught a 5-yarder from Dowty at 7:37 of the second quarter to extend the lead to 14-0 at the half. Moore caught his second TD pass, a 21 yarder, from Dowty in the third quarter for a 22-0 lead after three quarters and the Salukis added an insurance touchdown on a 4-yard run with 1:59 to go to cement the win.
Crutchfield rushed from 131 yards on 13 carries to lead the Saluki ground game and the Saluki defense came up with big plays all night long to lead to their first shutout of the season.
