After a successful career as a member of the Cloverdale football team, Levi Johnson has found a home at the next level.
The senior recently committed to Franklin College after helping change the culture with the Clovers.
"It feels great, being able to continue my career and playing the game I love. I decided on Franklin because I felt like it was a better fit for me, closer to my hometown and other things. I loved coach Leonard and the staff. They felt very welcoming, and I felt like they knew what they were talking about," Johnson told The Putnam County Post.
He opted for the Grizzlies over Hanover College.
"I also really enjoyed Hanover. It would have just been a little tougher with the distance," Johnson said.
For his senior season, Johnson rushed 123 times for 683 yards and five touchdowns, caught six passes for 87 yards and a score, and registered 40 tackles, two sacks and two pass deflections. He helped the Clovers pick up a win over Greencastle, a sectional win over Tindley and a 5-5 record, which marked the first .500 or winning season since 1996.
"Changing the culture was a tough thing. I will remember all my teammates, our wins, losses and my coaching staff. Winning is hard to do, but Coach Lotz helped instill what it takes to win," Johnson said.
