Virginia Richardson, 92, of Tippecanoe

Virginia Richardson, 92, of Tippecanoe, passed peacefully at 12:53 pm, Friday, May 16, 2025 at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center of Warsaw, Indiana.

Virginia was born on February 11, 1933, in New Castle Township to Jerry and Edna (Bradberry) Scott. On May 4, 1952, she married Fred L. Richardson in Rochester, Indiana, and they shared their lives together until his passing on October 29, 2008.

Virginia dedicated many years to serving as head cook, first at Tippecanoe School and later at Triton High School, before enjoying her retirement. She was a devoted member of the Women’s Auxiliary of Tippecanoe and played an active role on the Election Board. Her passions included tending to her flower garden, mushroom hunting, fishing, camping, crocheting, and playing euchre with friends. Among her cherished memories was a special trip to Minnesota. Virginia and Fred also found joy in traveling to various hit-and-miss engine shows and were members of the Fulton County Historical Society.

She is survived by her sons Rick and wife Jana Richardson of Tippecanoe and Randy and wife Darlene Richardson of Mentone; grandchildren Crystal and husband Chuck Shafer and John and wife Joni Maahs; 10 Great Grandchildren; brother Richard Scott of Elkhart.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred, grandson Robert Richardson, and sisters Bonnie Scott and Betty Scott.

The funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm, Friday, May 23, 2025 at King Memorial Home 101 North Tucker Street Mentone, Indiana with Pastor Larrie Kreft officiating.

Her interment will take place following the service in the Tippecanoe Cemetery, Tippecanoe, Indiana next to her husband.

Visitation hours will be held from 11 am to 1 pm, Friday, May 23, 2025 at King Memorial Home, Mentone, Indiana.

Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Tippecanoe Township Fire Department.
