Robert “ Bob” Wiser, 61, of Macy, passed away at 1:13 PM on January 16, 2026, shortly after admission at Dukes Memorial Hospital of Peru.
On May 4, 1964, Robert Edward was born in Gary to Raymond L. and Lynnette A. DeRose Wiser. Growing up, he shared his childhood with eight sisters and two brothers. Bob was a proud member of the Portage High School class of 1982.
With diverse interests, Bob worked at Lobdell-Emery and Delta Tube. More recently he worked in agricultural construction for Bellar Construction Company.
Cranking up the volume, Bob was an avid fan of WWE Wrestling. He also loved NASCAR racing with Dale Earnhardt being his favorite driver. Always at his side were Rosie and Poppea snuggling while they all watched TV.
An accomplished angler, Uncle Bob loved his nieces and nephews and loved sharing his passion of fishing with them. He fished anywhere there was water but his favorite fishing pond was found on Piotter's Farm. He could be seen on the banks patiently awaiting his first bite while holding his open-faced casting rod. He was a master at detangling when the nieces and nephews accompanied him. His favorite catches were bass and blue gill which he always released back to the pond for another thrilling battle for the future. When he wasn't fishing Bob was in the hunt for arrowheads.
Left to cherish the memories of Bob are eight sisters: Carletta Simmers and husband Robert of Mt. Pleasant, PA, Catherine Stanley, Cheryl Darnell and husband Marlin all of Portage, Mary Ritter and husband Richard of Rochester, Alice Tate of St. Louis, MO, Rebecca Bell of Chicago, IL, Christine Hammer and husband Larry, of Rochester, Angelena Bates of Macy; two brothers: Micheal Wiser and wife Joann of Rochester, Raymond Wiser Jr. and wife Cybil of Wabash; 3 stepdaughters Amy Miller of Wabash, Melissa Sylvain and Niki Fisher both of Peru; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews who adored Uncle Bob; his canines Poppea the black and white Springer Spaniel and Rosie the white with black spots Blue Healer-Australian Shepherd Special blend.
