Mary Hughes Scott, age 102, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 1:00 PM in Bridgeport, Illinois. She was born on August 12, 1920 in Lawrence County, Illinois She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Scott; parents, Hubert and Daisy (Inyart) Hughes; six brothers, Curtis Hughes, Melvin Hughes, Merle Hughes, Morris Hughes, Mervin Hughes, and Merrill Hughes; and one sister, Mildred Bunyan. She is survived by one sister, Shirley Burgett; one surrogate daughter, Susan Mitchell; and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be conducted on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM CST at the Emmons-Macey ; Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 2:00 PM CST at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest beside her husband on Thursday at 12:00 PM CST at the Kaneville Cemetery in Kaneville, Illinois.
