Kim Eugene Swihart, age 64, of Plymouth, Indiana, unexpectedly passed away on September 12, 2026. He was born on May 16, 1962, in Plymouth, Indiana, and lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and the simple pleasures that brought him joy.
Kim was the son of Roy Swihart and Diana (Ritenour) Swihart. He grew up in Plymouth and graduated from Plymouth High School with the Class of 1981. Those who knew him remember a man who valued honesty, loyalty, and the importance of showing up for the people he loved. He carried those values throughout his life and into every role he held as a son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather.
For many years, Kim worked as a forklift operator and spent over 10 years employed with Del Monte Foods in Plymouth. He was known as a dependable worker who took pride in doing his job well. His strong work ethic and steady presence earned the respect of those who worked alongside him. Kim understood the value of a day’s work and the satisfaction that came from providing for his family through dedication and perseverance.
Kim was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Knepper. Their shared life remained an important part of his story, and her memory stayed close to his heart. He is survived by his son, Aj (Alisha) Swihart, and his daughter, Sarita Godby. He was a loving grandfather to Lincoln, Ellie, Zach, and Tayla, and he treasured every moment spent with them. His family was the center of his world, and he found his greatest joy in being surrounded by those he loved most.
He is also survived by his father, Roy Swihart; his mother, Diana (Ritenour) Swihart; his sister, Karen (Ron) Lee; and his brother, Keith (Tammy) Swihart. Kim shared a lifelong bond with his family, and those relationships were a source of strength and comfort throughout his life. He will be remembered for the love he gave, the memories he helped create, and the steady presence he offered to those around him.
Kim enjoyed the simple things in life that reflected his personality and interests. He liked having a cigar at Angelina’s in Plymouth, where he could relax and enjoy the moment. He also enjoyed collecting items such as watches and knives, hobbies that gave him pleasure and reflected his appreciation for unique and lasting things. Above all else, he cherished time spent with his parents, children, and grandchildren, and those moments will remain among the most treasured memories of his life.
