Joseph S. Goodman, 71, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 9:35 P.M. Friday, January 23, 2026 at Life Care Center of Rochester.
He was born on May 6, 1954 in Gary, Indiana, the son of William and Betty (Slonaker) Goodman. On May 30, 1985 in Rochester, Indiana, he married Debbie A. Hayes and she survives.
Joe had worked as a Paramedic for Gary, Indiana Fire Department and had been self- employed as a drywaller. He was a member of the V.F.W Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and the Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed fishing and was a fan of the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Goodman, Rochester, Indiana, children, Brian (Samantha) Goodman, Rochester, Indiana, Ryan (Kourtney) Goodman, Rochester, Indiana, Christopher (Jackie) Goodman, Rochester, Indiana, seven grandchildren, Evelyn (Zach) Pickens, Rochester, Indiana, Emma Goodman, Rochester, Indiana, Brian Chapman, Rochester, Indiana, Spencer Goodman, Rochester, Indiana, Kaiden Hoagland, Rochester, Indiana, Nolan Goodman, Rochester, Indiana, Carson Goodman, Rochester, Indiana, siblings, Bruce Goodman, Fishers, Indiana, Dean Goodman, Hobart, Indiana, Debbie Goodman, Portage, Indiana, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Sandy Higgins, brother-in-law, Robert Higgins, and sister-in-law, Catherine Goodman.
Funeral services will be conducted at 5:00 P.M. Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Friends may visit from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.
