Gordon N. Easterday Sr., 71, of Rochester

Gordon N. Easterday Sr., 71, of Rochester, was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away on Sunday evening, May 31, 2026, at Hickory Creek of Rochester.

On November 5, 1954, Gordon Neal Easterday was born in Winamac.  He was a treasured son of Howard and Eileen Peterson Easterday.  The Easterday family moved near Rochester.  Gordon graduated with his class in 1973 from Rochester High School.  Following graduation, he joined the United States Air Force to serve our country from 1974 - 1978.

With a strong work ethic Gordon worked at Lobdell-Emery more recently known as Oxford Automotive for 30 years.  He most recently was the maintenance manager for Sterling Management Company.  Gordon was a proud member of the UAW # 2088 serving the hall as treasurer for many years.

With a green thumb, Gordon annually planted a large garden and shared the bountiful harvest with family, neighbors, and friends. He also planted flowers around the landscape to add color around his home.  He loved mowing and kept his yard in pinnacle condition.  His family relied on him to be Mr. Fix-It calling on him to help out with problem-solving and repairs.  He also oversaw a fine flock of turkeys and chickens that he enjoyed raising.

An armchair sportsman Gordon loved watching NASCAR especially Jeff Gordon.  He watched all college sports and was a die-hard Cubs fan. As a Grandpa,  Gordon was proud to oversee 4 generations.  He was a devoted Grandpa enjoying life making memories with his sons, the grandchildren and the greats!

Left to cherish Gordon's memory are 2 sons Ryan (Debra) Easterday and Gordon Easterday Jr. all of Rochester, 5 grandchildren Tyler Beebout, Lindsey Beebout, Savannah Stephens and fiancee' Riley Rigney, Dakotah Easterday and Zander Easterday; 4 great-grandchildren  Emori Shaffer, Serenity Beebout, Phoenix Isley and Akilah Beebout; his siblings Debbie (Charlie) Kirk of Fulton, Gary (Linda) Easterday of Boyer Lake, Penny Walls of Rochester and Howard Neal Easterday.

Preceding are his parents Howard and Eileen Easterday, 2 granddaughters Elizabeth Easterday in 2009, Katherine Beebout in 2017.

With honoring Gordon's wishes, a private family celebration of life will be held.  Burial will follow in the McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Winamac.  The Good Family Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.  The Fulton County Veteran's Honor Guard and the United States Air Force will convey military honors.  Online expressions of sympathy may be made to his family at www.goodfamilyfh.com
