Delores I. Corl 88, Rochester, passed away at 3:08 P.M., Friday, June 20, 2025, at Life Care Center of Rochester.
She was born on December 14, 1936 in Otterbien, Indiana, the daughter of Clarence and Irene (Kitterman) Simonin. On December 26, 1988, in Holland, Michigan, she married Kenneth Corl. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2020.
While Delores lived in Rochester she worked at different factories, including Olympic Fiberglass, Robertson Transformers, and Rochester Metal Products, and was active member of the Nazarene Church. In the early 1980’s she moved to Michigan and was employed at BLD Products. This is where she met her love, Ken, and they shared thirty- two wonderful years. They were both very faithful and active in their church where she loved to lead worship and teach the children about Jesus in Sunday School for many years. Upon retiring they started K & D Woodcrafts, making and selling wood products. In 2021, she came back to Rochester and resided at Life Care Center, where she made many friends and she loved the staff like family. She faithfully attended the Rochester Church of God until she was physically unable to attend, but she continued to enjoy the Church Services at Life Care. She had a deep faith and love for Jesus. She would share with anyone about His love. She enjoyed singing, reading her bible, watching westerns, loved the outdoors, enjoyed birds and animals of all kinds, especially the finches that would eat out of her hand. But most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family. She was the heart of the family.
Survivors include her daughter, Deb (Jeff) Cloud, Rochester, Indiana, son, Vince (Pam) Carpenter, Rochester, Indiana, nine grandchildren, Ryan Cloud, Bloomington, Indiana, Amber McLane, Benson, Arizona, Vincent “Shooter” Carpenter, DeKalb, Illinois, Crystal Tuttle, Rochester, Indiana, Josh Wilkins, Rochester, Indiana, Adam Wilkins, Rochester, Indiana, Dusty Carpenter, Michigan, Christopher Carpenter, Michigan, Timothy Carpenter, Michigan five great grandchildren, Anson, Jackson, Abby, Carson and Isabell, sister, Arlene Sriver, Rochester, Indiana, several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Kenneth Corl, sons, Robert Dale Carpenter, William Ray Carpenter, Roger Eugene Carpenter, sisters, Ellen Kitterman, JoRetta Maibauer, Merlene Winclechter, Carolyn Snay, brother, David Simonin, and great grandson, Vincent Carpenter Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Rochester Church of God, 3048 Southway 31, Rochester, Indiana.
Friends and family may visit from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Rochester Church of God.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 27, 2025 at the Lee Township Cemetery, Pullman, Michigan.
