David Gene Romine, 93, of rural Mentone

David Gene Romine, 93, of rural Mentone, passed at 6:33 am, Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Mason Health Care of Warsaw.
 
David Romine was born on July 25, 1932, near Mentone, Indiana, to the late Marvin and A. Virginia (Archambeault) Romine. He graduated from Mentone High School in 1951 and married Dorene C. Miller on May 6, 1952, in Plymouth, Indiana. They had 69 years of marriage together until her passing on February 18, 2022.

A lifelong farmer, David found purpose and pride in working the land and raising his family on the farm. He tended hogs and faithfully cultivated corn and beans, relying on John Deere equipment since the 1960s. Before farming, he worked as a mechanic at Overmeyer Ford in Warsaw and worked alongside his brother at the Sunoco Station in Bourbon.

In earlier years, he served on the Board for the Federal Land Bank. David cherished time with family, he and his wife enjoyed traveling to Florida and Colorado to visit loved ones, meals out, and gathering the family for Sunday dinners.

He is survived by a daughter Cathy and husband Roger Miller of Etna Green; son Randy and wife Beverly Romine of Etna Green; grandchildren Troy and wife Megan Miller, Chad and wife Kim Miller, Kerry Romine, Cory and wife Emily Romine, and Kylie and husband Garrick Haskins; 10 Great Grandchildren; 3 Step Great Grandchildren; 5 Great Great Grandchildren; sister June and husband Harold Personette of Gilead; and brothers James and wife Barbara Romine of Warsaw and Wayne Romine of Warsaw.
 
David was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dorene, and a brother Dan Romine.
 
Following his wishes, a private family service was held at King Memorial Home 101 North Tucker Street Mentone, Indiana.
