Alice Jean Becker, 92, of Noblesville, formerly of Winamac

Alice Jean Becker, 92, of Noblesville, formerly of Winamac, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.

She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Jean was born on August 28, 1932 in Delphi, IN to the late Charles and Margaret O. [Gerner] Hein. She went to St. Peter’s School through the 8th grade and attended Winamac High School earning a GED later in life. On November 3, 1951, she married Eugene Paul Becker at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Winamac. Gene passed away on May 24, 2006.

Jean was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and was active with the Christian Mothers and Ladies of Charity, helping to prepare and serve many funeral dinners over the years. In recent years, she has attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cicero, IN. She was a devout Catholic throughout her life.

For many years, Jean raised chickens and sold fresh eggs (pick-up and delivery). She also raised and sold strawberries, tomatoes, sweet corn, etc. While she devoted most of her life to being a wife and mother, she also worked as a custodian at Winamac High School and retired from Eaton’s in 1999 where she worked on the line.

Visitation will be from 3-7 PM EDT Monday, July 14, 2025 at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, IN. The Rosary will be recited at 7 PM EDT Monday evening at the funeral home.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM EDT Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Winamac, IN with Rev. Anthony Rowland officiating.

Burial will take place at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Winamac, IN.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Riley Hospital Foundation.
