The Downtown Plymouth Merchants Group concluded its 8th Annual Scavenger Hunt this week, with three lucky shoppers taking home prizes after hunting for Christmas song titles throughout the downtown shopping district.
The festive scavenger hunt, held over Black Friday and Shop Small Saturday, challenged participants to explore 41 participating downtown businesses while searching for 45 vinyl records featuring Christmas song titles. Shoppers then matched each song title to its corresponding business location.
The holiday-themed event combined seasonal shopping with community engagement, encouraging residents to discover or rediscover local merchants during the busiest shopping weekend of the year.
On Wednesday, organizers conducted a blind draw from completed entry sheets to select three prize winners:
- Richard McMichael - $250 in downtown dollars
- Stacie Overmyer - $100 in downtown dollars
- Karen Klingerman - $50 in downtown dollars
The prizes, distributed as "downtown dollars," can be redeemed at participating merchants throughout Plymouth's downtown shopping district, further supporting local businesses.
Now in its eighth year, the scavenger hunt has become a holiday shopping tradition in Plymouth, bringing foot traffic to downtown businesses while creating an interactive, family-friendly shopping experience during the critical holiday retail season.
