UPS announced this week that it will be closing several of its Indiana locations later this year. Among those expected to close, the UPS terminal in Bourbon, and those in Crawfordsville and Washington.
Teamsters Local Union 710 announced on Feb. 28 that UPS Labor confirmed three buildings in their union's jurisdiction would be eventually closing in 2025.
While no definitive date has been set, closures could began as early as this May. Local 710 officials said they will be working out all of the details about what this means for local UPS employees over the coming weeks to ensure their members continue working and stated they plan to fight for every member’s job.
Bourbon is a town of about 1,600 residents. Its UPS terminal has been one of the largest employers and is the largest corporate entity in the community.
