The Senate unanimously passed a resolution introduced by U.S. Senators Todd Young (R-Ind.) and Jim Banks (R-Ind.) congratulating the Indiana Hoosiers on winning the College Football Playoff National Championship and completing an undefeated 16-0 season.
“As an IU fan since the Bill Mallory era, I’m proud to lead this Senate resolution celebrating the national champion Indiana Hoosiers. Congressional recognition will give IU fans one more way to Google the wins from this historic season. Thank you to the players, Coach Cignetti, and the entire IU staff for such a special season that will be cherished in our state for generations,” said Senator Young.
“Indiana is so proud of this team and their historic 16-0 championship season. The whole country was cheering for Coach Cignetti, Fernando Mendoza, and the Hoosiers as they showed incredible class, teamwork, and grit. As an alum and Indiana’s new U.S. Senator I couldn’t be more proud and I can’t wait to see them do it again next season,” said Senator Banks.
