Two people were hospitalized following a crash with a dump truck and a car Tuesday in Shelby County.
The Shelby County Sheriff's Department released information on the serous injury crash that occurred about 8:15 a.m. on SR 244 just west of CR 600 E. Initial observations indicate the dump truck was headed eastbound and dropped off the edge of the south side of the road, overcorrected, then came back onto the road and struck a westbound passenger car head-on.
The driver of the passenger car was flown to IU Methodist with serious injuries. The driver of the dump truck was also taken to IU Methodist by ambulance. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
The names of the drivers are not available as this report from the sheriff's department.
Assisting at the scene were the Shelbyville Fire Department, Shelby County EMA, Waldron Fire Department, along with Ross and Davis wrecker companies.
