An early morning dispatch for Plymouth Police Officer to the Economy Inn resulted in the arrest of two individuals for felony possession of methamphetamine and other charges.
At about 3:20 Thursday morning, March 6th, officers from the Plymouth Police Department were dispatched to the Economy Inn (2535 N. Michigan St) for reports of a male subject who was arguing with his girlfriend and was cut by his girlfriend.
The male was identified as 45-year-old Zachary Bau, and the female was 37-year-old Monica Peters. Police determined that both had been involved in the physical domestic altercation and were taken into custody.

While taking both subjects into custody, each one was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and marijuana. A search warrant was obtained for their hotel room, and additional suspected methamphetamine was located.

Bau and Peters were both lodged at the Marshall County Jail on preliminary criminal charges of felony possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance, domestic battery, misdemeanor false reporting, and possession of marijuana.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury, at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
