A Twelve Mile woman convicted this week of child molesting and sex trafficking now faces up to 300 years in prison.

On Wednesday, Oct. 22, Amanda Sayger, 38, of Twelve Mile was convicted of conspiracy to commit child molesting following a two-day trial in Cass Circuit Court. A jury deliberated less than two hours Wednesday before returning a verdict of guilt on all charges, which included conspiracy to commit child molesting, assisting in the commission of child molesting, promotion of child sex trafficking and neglect.

According to court documents, the charges followed an investigation conducted by the Logansport Police Department which revealed Sayger had arranged sexual encounters between a 13 year old and a 36 year old male in exchange for money. Police further discovered the juvenile was given alcohol and THC gummies during the sexual encounters.

Sayger later testified at trial that she had been the one having sex for money and not the juvenile. This was called out by the prosecutor, who said Sayger's testimony had contridicted previous statements she had given to law enforcement. In closing argument, the prosecutor stated that the evidence collected in the investigation disproved Sayger’s story, and corroborated the testimony of the victim, who also testified.

Sayger is scheduled to be sentenced on November 20 and faces a maximum sentence of over 300 years.
