A trailer stolen in Indianapolis three years ago has been recovered in Parke County.
One week ago, Parke County deputies were notified of an abandoned trailer near the Putnam County line, south of US 36. Deputies determined the VIN number had been removed from the trailer and it was seized for further processing and investigation.
Deputies reported finding enough information to confirm it was stolen in 2022.
The trailer was returned to its owner. The investigation into its theft continues.
