Freezing temperatures have led to the town of Winamac to issue a systemwide freeze warning that urges residents to take precaution to help prevent froze pipes during the cold snap.
A systemwide freeze warning has been issued for residents in the town of Winamac due to recent frigid temperatures, recommending all residential and commercial water and sewer customers leave their water running to prevent frozen pipes.
Officials instruct that the water must be run from a cold water faucet located inside buildings until further notice. It was also noted that water should be ran lightly, with the stream measuring up to about the size of a toothpick.
Officials at Winamac Town Hall plan on issuing a notice when the freeze warning comes to a close in the community. For more information, contact the Winamac Town Hall at 574-946-3451.
