Officers with the Plymouth Police Department were dispatched to Walmart for a welfare check on Wednesday just after 4:30 p.m.
The caller told the Central Dispatch Center that two males had been entering and exiting the store, and when they saw the Walmart staff, they fled the store quickly. The caller said one of the males was wearing an orange mask and had gotten into a silver Chrysler 300 with Michigan plates.
When Officer Fisher arrived, he located the silver Chrysler 300, and the windows were fogged up, and the suspicious male was sitting in the passenger seat. The officer approached the vehicle and detected the odor of marijuana coming from it. Johnathan Allen, 30, from Taylor, Michigan, admitted to the officer that marijuana in the car when he was asked.
A search of the vehicle was conducted, and 37.1 grams of marijuana were located along with a scale.
Allen was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail. He was booked for possession of marijuana, and on a cash bond until 8:30 p.m. when his bond was posted and he was released with a court date.
