A law enforcement pursuit traveled through multiple counties before ending with an arrest near Edinburgh.
The Friday afternoon pursuit of a stolen truck on Interstate 65 from the Kentucky border to just north of Edinburgh reached speeds greater than 100 miles per hour.
Indiana State Police clocked the truck speeding at 87 mph and pulled it over. But the driver then fled from the stop and was able to avoid multiple attempts to stop them with tire deflating devices. The driver, James Vinson, 35, of Indianapolis, at one point drove the wrong way on the interstate near Walesboro. He also struck a car on an on-ramp.
Another effort with tire deflation devices did work near the State Road 252 exit bringing the pursuit to an end.
Vinson is charged with resisting law enforcement, vehicle theft, being a habitual traffic violator and criminal recklessness with a vehicle. He and two passengers were also charged with possession of marijuana.
