In a release on Friday, Senator Mike Bohacek said the 2024 legislative session ended last week, and he is pleased to see some of the Senate Republican priorities move to the governor's desk for final consideration.
The first one Bohacek highlighted was Expand child care access and affordability, SEA 2.
Senator Enrolled Act 2 helps more people become childcare workers, cut red tape that makes it harder to operate a child care center and creates a micro facility pilot program that could be a statewide model.
SEA 4 ensures responsible use of taxpayer dollars. Senator Enrolled Act 4 creates an ongoing process to review and return unused state funds to the state's General Fund and enables state agencies to lower or eliminate fines and fees more quickly.
SEA 5 will protect Hoosiers’ health. Senate Enrolled Act 5 will help Indiana utility companies replace unhealthy lead water lines in Indiana homes and businesses faster and more efficiently.
In closing Senator Bohacek said “As your state senator, I am committed to passing measures that continue to move Indiana in the right direction. That is why I look forward to hearing from constituents and studying issues facing our communities during the interim. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact my office at Senator.Bohacek@iga.in.gov or 317-232-9400.”
