The Pulaski County Sheriff's Department reported that Gage Morris, 21, of Knox, had self-reported about striking something unknown in the roadway after the initial report was made about the injured man. Police soon determined that the two calls were related.
Police discovered that a pedestrian had been walking southbound on U.S. 35 around midnight near County Road 250 North in Pulaski County when he had been struck by a southbound vehicle.
When emergency responders arrived to the scene they found Joshua Jaeger, 40, of Rochester, in need of medical assistance. Jaeger was stabilized for transport and flown to a hospital for treatment, where he's been listed in stable condition. Pulaski County EMS and the Winamac Fire Department assisted police at the scene.
