Ron Shaffer has decided to step down as the Zebras head football coach.
The decision comes after five seasons and a 39-13 overall record as the program’s head coach. Athletic Director Cal Stone released the news on Thursday.
Rochester just completed a season that included an 8-0 undefeated Three Rivers Conference championship. The Zebras dominated TRC play by outscoring opponents 377-34.
Rochester was eliminated from the postseason in a sectional semifinal loss to undefeated fifth-ranked Eastbrook.
Shaffer never had a losing season in his five as head coach. The Zebras were 5-3 in his first season after going winless in 2020.
A sizable group of players is also leaving the program this season as 13 seniors have played their final games in a Rochester uniform.
