Officer Baker spoke with Nigel Rowe who told him that his wife’s ex-husband, Richard Maher, 30, of Walkerton showed up at their residence and was beating on the door.
Mr. Rowe said they didn’t answer. It is alleged Richard Maher entered the residence without permission and began to scream at his ex-wife.
Mr. Rowe called the police and Maher took off in an unknown direction.
Corporal Baker came to the South Michigan Steet address and spoke with Elizabeth Rowe. She told the officer that her ex-husband was supposed to have their son on May 30th. When Richard called to confirm the pickup Elizabeth Rowe said the child couldn’t go because they were going out of state to a museum. Mr. Maher became upset and stated that he was going to come over and “beat her ass.” He showed up a short time later, but the Rowes did not answer the door to avoid any confrontation.
Maher entered the residence without permission and began to scream at his ex-wife. She told the officer that she thought Richard was drunk as he smelled of alcohol.
Plymouth Officers checked the area but were unsuccessful in locating Richard Maher.
Richard Roy Maher III was located on Wednesday, June 26th, and booked into the Marshall County Jail on a felony warrant for residential entry and disorderly conduct at 2:30 in the afternoon. He paid a cash bond at 6:15 p.m. and was released on bond.
