Marshall County Republican precinct representatives will gather for two separate caucuses on June 3rd to fill the vacancy for Marshall County Treasurer and County Council District 4.
Marshall County Republicans are notified that a caucus will be held at 6:00 P.M. on June 3rd at the Marshall County Republican Headquarters, 117 Water Street in Plymouth.
The first caucus will be of the Republican Precinct representatives of District 4 to select a replacement for Councilman Steve Gorski, who submitted his resignation to County Chairman Dev VanDeMark. Gorski told WTCA he's accepting a part-time hourly position in the recorder's office, and can’t legally do both. Since he is running for recorder, in the next election, he said, "This is an excellent opportunity to learn the recorder's duties." He went on to say, "I’ll still serve the county, just in another role."
County Treasurer Sandra Dodson has also submitted her resignation to Republican County Chairman Deb VanDeMark. A caucus to fill that vacancy will also be held on Tuesday, June 3rd, at Republican Headquarters in downtown Plymouth. Republican Precinct representatives of Marshall County will gather to vote on the next County Treasurer.
Any person interested in filing a Declaration of Candidacy for either position should do so no later than 72 hours in advance of the meeting with County Chairman Deborah VanDeMark. You may mail the declaration to Chairman Marshall County Republican Party, P.O. Воx 102, Plymouth, IN 46563, call the chairman at (574)274-8325, or email her at deb0831@ outlook.com.
