Open auditions for the play Steel Magnolias will be held on Monday, March 6 and Tuesday, March 7, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. both days at The REES Theatre in Plymouth. Callbacks are scheduled for Thursday, March 9, also between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.
Steel Magnolias, a 1987 play by Robert Harling is about the bond a group of women share in a small-town Southern community, and how they cope with the death of one of their own. Harling based the story in part on his sister, Susan Harling Robinson who died in 1985 of complications from Type 1 diabetes.
The play will be presented on The Bob Pickell Performing Arts stage at The REES Theatre in June with matinees on Thursday, June 22 and Sunday, June 25, both at 2:00 p.m. Evening performances at 7:00 p.m. are scheduled for Friday, June 23 and Saturday, June 24.
