The Red Hill Unit 10 Board of Education has voted to table the adoption of a bond resolution for a major school facilities improvement project.
The move Thursday night comes as the initial estimates for the work came in higher than expected from engineering firm ENGIE based out of Chicago.
Unit 10 Superintendent Jakie Walker told GIANT-FM News that the board will now look over the projected plans and will prioritize needs over the next two weeks to try and reduce costs.
The board was looking to authorize the issuance of $4 million in general obligation school bonds for the purpose of helping pay for the project.
