Putnam County dodges severe impact from Wednesday storms

In the end, Putnam County dodged a massive bullet Tuesday night as tornadoes and storms popped up in the evening.

Emergency personnel reached this consensus because damages were limited to a few homes, barns, and trees. The biggest takeaway? There were no damages to people or loss of life.

Putnam County Sheriff Jerrod Baugh confirmed there was some damage around the South Putnam and Cloverdale area.

"Homes and barns were damaged along a path of about three miles from 250 East to past 550 East and followed the 600 South line. There were no serious injuries to report," Baugh told The Putnam County Post.

Indiana State Police Sgt. and Public Information Officer Matt Ames echoed those sentiments.

"The early reports are just down trees in the area and no major property damage.  No injuries were reported at all," Ames told The Putnam County Post.

Another wave of storms that could produce tornadoes is expected Wednesday.
