Plymouth woman arrested on methamphetamine charge after traffic stop Thursday

A Plymouth woman was taken into custody early Thursday morning after a traffic stop led to the discovery of methamphetamine.

According to the Plymouth Police Department, Patrolman Allen conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operating without any headlights or taillights at approximately 1:45 a.m. on Thursday, September 10th, in the area of West Monroe Street and North Center Street.

Plymouth K9 Kyzer arrived on the scene and assisted Officer Allen with a search of the vehicle. The search revealed that the driver, 33-year-old Kayla Hiler, was in possession of methamphetamine.

Hiler was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where she was booked and lodged. She was assigned a court date and issued a bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
