Plymouth woman arrested for OWI after registering four times the legal limit

A 27-year-old Plymouth woman was arrested early Tuesday morning after a traffic stop revealed she was driving with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) four times the legal limit.

At approximately 4:25 a.m. on Tuesday, January 27th, Plymouth Police Officer R. Ayala was alerted by a passerby to a potentially impaired driver. While locating the vehicle, Officer Ayala observed the driver commit two left-of-center violations before initiating a traffic stop at the intersection of West Jefferson and Third Streets.

The driver was identified as Dazha Oakley, 27 of Lincoln Highway in Donaldson. Following an initial investigation at the scene, Oakley was transported to Plymouth Hospital for a certified chemical test and medical clearance. Results from the test indicated a BAC four times the legal limit of .08%.

Oakley was subsequently booked into the Marshall County Jail on charges including operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (BAC .15% or higher), OWI – Endangerment, OWI – Prior Conviction, and Habitual Traffic Violator (HTV)
