The Plymouth Wesleyan Church at 11203 South Michigan Road is conducting a hurricane relief effort. They are collecting items for North Carolina residents affected by Hurricane Helene. Plymouth Wesleyan will collect supplies that will be delivered to various Wesleyan churches throughout eastern North Carolina.
Bottled water, especially gallon jugs, needs to be collected urgently. The church is also collecting all types of cleaning supplies and paper products, including toilet paper. Diapers, powdered formulas, and feminine hygiene items are also being collected. Finally, non-perishable food items are needed. Canned food items with pull-tabs are preferred, although cases of canned goods with manual can openers will also help. Easy-to-eat items like cereal bars, granola bars, and pop-tarts are a great choice.
The Plymouth Wesleyan Church will collect donations all week from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at door # 3 and this Saturday morning from 9 to 11.
The hope is to fill a box truck or even a semi and send it to North Carolina next week. The church hopes to begin a second drive right after that to continue providing relief to the residents of eastern North Carolina who will be impacted for months.
Everyone in the community is welcome to send some Hoosier Hospitality to North Carolina through their donations at Plymouth Wesleyan Church.
