The Plymouth High School Speech Team won its 43rd straight sectional speech tournament this past Saturday, scoring 230 points compared to second-place Penn's 185 points. The team also qualified 38 of its 40 entries for the ISSDA State Speech Tournament, which will be held on Saturday, March 8, at Fishers High School. Plymouth won its first sectional tournament in 1982 and has won every sectional since under the direction of just three head coaches: Dan Tyree, David McKenzie, and current head coach Eric Schaefer.

Humor: Brice Hoover, Brandon Woods, Olivia Burch, and Madelyn Hutchings.
Impromptu: Tyler Travis (champion)
Informative: Alex Kizer, Katie Fritz, and Cora Hanes.
International Extemp: Maddie Harness and Marcy Sickmiller.

The team finished 2nd in the state last year, losing to Munster High School by 2 points. Their goal this year, as always, is to return home as state champions.
