Officers with the Plymouth Police Department responded to 726 N First Street on Sunday, March 17th to investigate a 911 hang-up.
During interaction with the caller, he provided the false name of Dominic Powers. Further investigation revealed the caller's name to be Dominic Sheets, 34, of Plymouth.
Dominic Sheets had an active arrest warrant through Tippecanoe County and during the investigation, it was determined a search warrant was needed for the residence.
During the execution of the search warrant police located Raymond Powers, 56, of Plymouth. He was arrested and lodged in the Marshall County Jail for Possession of Marijuana as a class B misdemeanor, possession of paraphernalia as a class C misdemeanor, maintaining a common nuisance as a level 6 felony, and possession of methamphetamine as a level 6 felony.
Dominic Sheets was lodged in the County Jail for the same charges as well as false informing a class B misdemeanor and the outstanding warrant.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
