Wednesday evening, emergency responders from the Plymouth Fire Department and Police Department responded to a structure fire at apartment 21 in Jackson Heights.
Engine 82, Turck1, Engine 150, and Medic 2 were dispatched to the two-story structure.
No one was home when the fire broke out, so firefighters made entry into the lower apartment and had a quick knockdown of the flames.
Four dogs were rescued from the apartment, with two of the dogs suffering from smoke inhalation.
While fire crews were extinguishing the fire in the bottom apartment, a second crew forced the door on the upstairs apartment open and did a quick primary search. No one was at home in the second-story apartment either.
The upper apartment sustained light smoke damage.
No injuries were reported.
