Plymouth Community School Corporation (PCSC), in partnership with the Zac Mago Foundation, will host a Youth Heart Screening on Thursday, March 19 at Lincoln Junior High School, 830 Gibson Street, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The screening is designed to help identify potential heart conditions in young people and promote awareness of cardiac health. The event is open to youth ages 10–25. The $25 screening fee for non-PCSC students will be waived for all Plymouth Community School students.
Participants will receive:
● Personal and family heart health history review
● Height and weight measurement
● Blood pressure screening
● Electrocardiogram (ECG)
● Limited echocardiogram
● Review of results by a board-certified cardiologist
Screenings may help detect conditions such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, Long QT syndrome, Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW), cardiomyopathies, and other structural or electrical heart abnormalities that can increase the risk of sudden cardiac events.
In addition to heart screenings, participants will learn hands-only CPR and how to properly use an AED, empowering students and families with life-saving knowledge.
The Zac Mago Foundation was established in memory of Zac Mago (2000–2018) and Thomas Mago (2002–2017) to raise awareness and provide preventative heart screenings for youth. The foundation’s mission is to prevent sudden cardiac death through early detection, education, and community outreach.
PCSC is proud to partner with the Zac Mago Foundation to provide this important opportunity for families and to continue prioritizing student health and safety.
Registration is required and can be completed via QR on the flyer or online at: https://zacmagofoundation.org/
