The “Plymouth Rock” stone fountain in River Park Square hasn’t been operational for about three months because of a leak.
Park Superintendent Mike Hite told GIANT fm WTCA that there is a leak somewhere in the pipes underground, and the fountain would run out of water.
Hite said they have tried several options over the summer, but none have been successful. He said, “With summer going on, we didn't want to dig everything up in River Park Square and have a mess during the Farmers Market.”
The Plymouth Farmers Market’s last day is Oct. 11.
Hite said they are currently trying to hire a contractor to do the digging, and they plan to have it fixed this fall and ready to work in the spring.
