About 7 p.m. Thursday, a Marshall County Sheriff's Officer performed a traffic stop for a moving violation on Linden Road near 17th Road in Argos.
Argos Police arrived to assist. During the investigation, it was discovered that one of the occupants had multiple outstanding warrants. It was also discovered that the occupants were possessing marijuana.

34-year-old Cody Overmyer and 19-year-old Andrea Potter were taken into custody for Possession of Marijuana. Potter was also incarcerated for the outstanding warrants.
They were each held on $500 cash bonds.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
