The National Weather Service (NWS) is warning Lawrence County and other area residents to be prepared for active weather that could bring extensive, heavy rainfall.
A Flood Watch has been issued from Thursday, June 25th through Saturday, June 27th. Current forecasts have a high (greater than 70%) probability of rainfall exceeding 2 inches in the watch area.
Excessive runoff from the anticipated rain could result in the flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. People are asked to monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings and be prepared to take action if high water develops.
