Norris Electric Cooperative has announced that Tamara Phillips recently retired as general manager of the power company and Luke Johnson has been appointed as her successor.
Phillips concludes a 44-year career with Norris Electric. She joined the organization in 1982 as a key punch operator and advanced upward in a series of roles until becoming office manager in 2003 and general manager in 2016.
Johnson, a native of Flora (Illinois), brings over 25 years of electric cooperative experience to his new role with Norris Electric. He started with the Clay Electric Co-operative and progressed through the ranks before becoming operations and general manager. Most recently, he was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and General Manager of the Tri-County Electric Cooperative.
Norris Electric serves area of Lawrence and surrounding counties throughout southcentral and southeastern Illinois.
