Emergency responders from Plymouth and Argos were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash at Muckshaw and 14C Road on Tuesday evening, September 3rd. One man was transported to Memorial Hospital for treatment.
At approximately 7:22 PM, Marshall County Police, along with Argos EMS and Fire, were dispatched to the intersection of Muckshaw Road and 14C Road, where a pick-up truck had ended up in a ditch and the male subject was bleeding from the head.
Deputy Wozniak arrived on the scene and located 39-year-old Matthew J. Middaugh of Plymouth.
The investigation found that Middaugh was operating a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on 14C Road just east of Muckshaw Road. Due to a glare from the sun, Middaugh told the officer he didn’t see the stop sign and continued through Muckshaw Road at the T-intersection. The pick-up proceeded into a steep ditch, where it came to rest. During the incident, Middaugh struck his head on the windshield, causing a severe laceration to his forehead, among other possible injuries to his head and face.
Matthew Middaugh was transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for treatment. Neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to be a factor in the crash.
