MCHD donates two AEDS to Plymouth Schools

The Plymouth Community School Corporation announced the donation of two Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) from the Marshall County Health Department.

These life-saving devices will be strategically placed at the Rockpile concession stand and Bill Nixon Field, ensuring they are readily accessible for the public and the PHS student-athletes.

An AED is a portable electronic device that automatically diagnoses life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias and can treat them through defibrillation. AEDs are crucial in the moments following a sudden cardiac arrest, providing immediate assistance until emergency medical services arrive. This donation from the Marshall County Health Department aligns with PCSC's ongoing commitment to student safety and is a key component of our Sudden Cardiac Arrest Protocols.

The cost of each AED is approximately $1,700, underscoring the significant value of this contribution to our schools and community.

"We are so happy for the partnership we have at the Marshall County Health Department and Plymouth Community Schools," said Sandy Dunfee, a representative from the Marshall County Health Department. "Funding from Health First Indiana has allowed us to expand our services to our local schools."
