With blood supplies critically low and demand expected to surge ahead of the upcoming holiday weekend, Plymouth Mayor Robert Listenberger is urging residents to roll up their sleeves this Saturday, June 27th, for a community blood drive at the Farmer's Market in River Park Square.
The South Bend Medical Foundation will bring its mobile unit to downtown Plymouth and accept blood donations from 8 a.m. to noon. Walk-in appointments are welcome, but donors are encouraged to pre-register in advance at www.givebloodnow.com.
Organizers are stressing the urgency of this drive, noting that blood supplies are at very low levels just as holiday weekend demand typically spikes. Donating even a short time Saturday morning could make a life-saving difference for patients in need across the region.
Texas Roadhouse is serving as the June Promotion Sponsor for the drive and is sweetening the deal for donors. Everyone who gives blood on Saturday will receive a coupon good for a free Cactus Blossom, an order of fried pickles, or a free kids' meal.
