Mayor Listenberger chosen to be Blueberry Festival Parade Marshall

The 58^th annual Marshall County Blueberry Festival officially opens at noon on Friday, August 30th, and is the largest four-day festival in the State of Indiana.  This year’s theme is “A Day in the Life of…” and this year, Mayor Robert Listenberger has been selected as the Parade Marshal. 

The mayor has been a resident of Plymouth for 58 years.  He’s a graduate of Plymouth High School class of 1983 and attended Ball State University before returning home to assist his mother with their family business, The Balloon Wurks.  Mayor Listenberger, a devoted family man, is the father of three daughters and the grandfather of three. 

Mayor Listenberger’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to expand the family business with his sister, Mary Beth.  Their ventures included Kentucky Fried Chicken franchises, Federal Food Service Contracts, and the establishment of Bob’s Cafeteria Food Truck and Catering.  Providing meal service to American troops across the United States as Federal Food Service Contractors through Hoosier Food Service is one of Robert’s proudest accomplishments Beyond his business endeavors, Mayor Listenberger is actively involved in the community. He is a member of the Plymouth Economic Development Commission, the Plymouth Complete Streets Committee, and the Knights of Columbus.

Mayor Listenberger’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for Plymouth residents is reflected in his past service on the Plymouth Parks and Recreation Board and the Plymouth Planning Commission.  His dedication extends to volunteering and supporting various community initiatives.

In his spare time Mayor Listenberger enjoys golf, tennis, fishing, and spending time with his family.  His passion for Plymouth is evident in his enthusiasm for the Blueberry Festival, which he believes brings the community together, showcases the city, and benefits numerous non-profit organizations.
